Engaging Young Entrepreneurs started in 2018 as a youth-run, non-profit organization founded by Myra Chan and Sarah Hesp. Two students who are not only great friends but creative and impact-driven young leaders. The event they have put together brings together students in high schools across Kingston. This year, en-GAGE With Careers was held at the DDQIC Event Commons, Queen’s University.

BizSkills Academy has conducted two sessions with two different groups of students. The goal of these sessions was two-fold:

  • first, we want them to understand the difference between entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship.
  • Secondly, we wanted them to understand the future career paths options they have and how they might go about preparing themselves to be ready when that time comes.

The organization strives to provide students with opportunities to learn the business and entrepreneurial skills, inform them about available resources in the community, encourage them to discover new opportunities and pathways, as well as inspiring to be leaders and innovators.
